Fordham and Saint Louis will be competing in the second round of the WNIT on Sunday. Both squads will be looking to continue their seasons on the road against Big Ten Foes, Penn State and Indiana, respectively.
The Fordham women's basketball team (22-11, 11-5 A-10) used a massive 27-point third quarter to rally and overtake Georgetown on the road in the first round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) on Friday night to set up a second round date at Penn State (20-10, 9-7 Big Ten) on Sunday at 2 p.m. It is the third WNIT second round appearance in the last five years for the Rams.
The Billikens (25-8, 12-4 A-10) were led by senior Sadie Stipanovich’s 22 points and career-high 16 rebounds as they rallied for a victory over IUPUI, 62-57. Saint Louis will face Indiana in Bloomington on Sunday afternoon. Tipoff at Assembly Hall is scheduled for 2:00 pm ET. This is the second consecutive season that the Billikens have advanced to the second round of the WNIT.
