Penn State 70, Fordham 51
University Park, Pa. – The Fordham women's basketball team's season ended on Sunday afternoon with a 70-51 loss at Penn State. The Rams outscored the Lady Lions, 39-37, in the second half but started out slow, scoring just 12 points in the first half. With the loss, Fordham will end its season with a 22-12 overall record and 11-5 record in Atlantic 10 play. The Rams have reached the second round of the WNIT three times in the past five seasons.
Junior forward G'mrice Davis finished with 20 points on 6-of-14 shooting and 15 rebounds, the third such 20 & 15 game of her season, for her 24th double-double of the year. With her second board today, she passed Anne Gregory O'Connell for the fourth-most boards in a single season, and finishes her season with the fifth-most rebounds in school history, 770.
Seniors Danielle Burns, Hannah Missry, and Danielle Padovano played in the 131st, 128th, and 121st games of their careers, respectively, the third, fourth, and seventh-most in school history. The three walked off together to a big ovation from the traveling Fordham crowd, subbed out one last time.
Indiana 71, Saint Louis 53
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Saint Louis women’s basketball fell 71-53 to Indiana Sunday afternoon in a second-round game of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament at Assembly Hall.
The Billikens conclude the season with a 25-9 record.
Jackie Kemph scored a team-high 11 points and led all players with six assists. Sadie Stipanovich had 10 points and a game-high eight rebounds.
