Below is an except from a feature story profiling Saint Louis women's basketball senior guard Jackie Kemp that appeared in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch written by Stu Durando. A link to the full story is included at the bottom of the except.

In her St. Louis University uniform, Jackie Kemph has an urgency and tempo on the court that often look and feel like reckless abandon.

She has helped redefine SLU women’s basketball at a rapid-fire pace that has stretched the boundaries of anything seen from one individual in the program’s 42-year history. She is, possibly, the best women’s basketball player to suit up at SLU.

Considering the buzz that has surrounded her athletic career, it is amusing to hear Kemph discuss her other life, in which she is pursuing excellence in the world of accounting. That quest has included a similar fast track to a bachelor’s degree, an internship with one of the world’s top accounting firms and work on a master’s degree this school year.

“It’s exciting stuff,” she quipped when talking about her work on corporate taxes last summer at Pricewaterhouse Coopers.

Self-deprecating though she might be about her chosen field, Kemph does find her studies and work with financial numbers just as exciting as her pursuit of record numbers with the Billikens. Her accelerated rate has led to success in both areas.
