New York, N.Y. - On Thursday, July 11th's Katie Couric Show, there will be some familiar faces in the studio audience, as close to 40 student-athletes from Fordham University's women's athletic teams were in attendance for the show, which placed the spotlight on ESPN's Title IX Movie Series, "Nine for IX".
The show, which will air in the New York City area at 3:00 PM on ABC, gave current student-athletes from the tri-state area an opportunity to ask questions about the Nine for IX series, as well as to famous women that have made a difference in the sports industry on a national level. The guests on the show included Robin Roberts, who was a sports broadcaster before her current stay on ABC's Good Morning America, Venus Williams, a former #1 tennis player in the world and now a part owner of the NFL's Miami Dolphins, Michelle Akers, a two-time Women's World Cup Champion with the U.S. National Team, actress and comedian Whoopi Goldberg, and Hannah Storm, who is currently an anchor on ESPN's SportsCenter and has had previous stints with NBC Sports and CNN Sports.
