NEWPORT NEWS, Va.— Massachusetts’ Michael Glenn and Richmond’s Anna Fetter were named the Atlantic 10 Men’s & Women’s Swimming & Diving Performers of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday. Also honored were La Salle’s Dylan Yurasits, who was named the Men’s Rookie of the Week, and Richmond’s Annie Lane, who was named the Women’s Rookie of the Week. Awards were based off meet performances from Jan. 19-25.
Glenn, a senior from Overland Park, Kan., swam four individual events and two relays at the Dartmouth Invitational last weekend, winning the 100-yd breaststroke (58.10) and the 200-yd breaststroke (2:05.92). Glenn also claimed second in the 400-yd individual medley (4:08.20) and third in the 200-yd individual medley (1:55.86). He was a member of the 400-yd medley relay squad that finished second and the 200-yd medley relay team that finished fourth.
Fetter, a senior from Westfield, N.J., helped post 25 of Richmond’s 123 points over the weekend in a home meet against James Madison. Fetter was a part of the 400-yd medley relay squad that finished first. She also won the 100-yd butterfly (56.02), finished third in the 200-yd butterfly (2:07.60) and finished fourth in the 200-yd individual medley (2:11.02).
Yurasits, a freshman from North Wales, Pa., finished first in both the 1-meter dive (297.68) and the 3-meter dive (296.55) this past week against Loyola (MD).
Lane, a freshman from Vinton, Va., set a personal best time of 5:01.11 in the 500-yd freestyle to win the vent as she scored in all four events for the Spiders this past weekend against James Madison. Lane finished second in the 100-yd breaststroke (1:05.16) and was a member of the 400-yd medley relay team and the 200-yd free relay team that finished first and third respectively.
