NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Ten Atlantic 10 schools will be represented at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Preliminary Championships, announced this week by the NCAA. The Preliminary Championships will be held May 25-27. The East region will be held on the campus of the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky., and the West region at the University of Texas in Austin.
George Mason leads the way with 10 combined men's and women's entries, followed by Rhode Island with six. Also represented at the NCAA Championships is Davidson, Dayton, Duquesne, Massachusetts, Richmond, Saint Joseph's, Saint Louis and VCU. For a full list of entries and events, click here.
The top 48 declared student-athletes per region were selected into individual events, with the relay teams in each region also earning entry. The top 12 finishes in each event will advance to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon, June 7-10.
