NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Saint Joseph’s senior Taylor Ryan was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, and Saint Louis junior Olivia Silverman was chosen as the Defensive Player of the Week. Ryan’s freshman teammate Mackenzie Ehresman was named A-10 Rookie of the Week. All three awards are for games played from Aug. 20-26.

Leading SJU to a 1-0-1 mark on the week, Ryan helped SJU earn a 1-1 draw at Rutgers then factored in both of the Hawks' goals in a 2-1 win at James Madison. The midfielder from Medford, N.J., assisted on the opening goal against the Dukes, and then scored the game winner off a penalty kick in the second half.

Silverman, a goalkeeper from Cincinnati, Ohio, posted a 0.45 GAA and an .857 save percentage in two games. She allowed one goal and made a save in 110 minutes in net in a tie with Central Arkansas. She then recorded her second shutout of the season against SIU Edwardsville, stopping five shots.

A defender, Ehresman scored the opening goal of SJU's 1-1 draw at previously perfect Rutgers, which was ranked to start the 2018 season. The Jamison, Pa., native also helped Saint Joseph's pick up a road victory by holding off a late push by James Madison in a 2-1 win on Sunday.
