Luther Named NCBWA National Co-Pitcher of the Week
After throwing the first nine-inning no-hitter at Saint Louis University since 1961 on Saturday, senior Cody Luther has been named National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Co-Pitcher of the Week. He shared the award with Pacific junior right-handed pitcher Ryan Shreve. The NCBWA Board reviews candidates from each Division I Conference each week and names winners each Tuesday throughout the season.
The right-hander threw 106 pitches on his way to striking out a career-high 11 hitters, walking two and facing just one batter over the minimum. Luther improved to 5-2 on the year with a 2.30 ERA. He has 55 strikeouts and 15 walks in 54.2 innings.
