Joergen Oland Named to Hermann Award Watch List
Fordham Senior Defender is One of 36 Players on Initial Watch List
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - (Aug. 1, 2019) – United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletic Club announced today the initial list of NCAA Division I players named to the 2019 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch Lists, presented by World Wide Technology. On that list is Fordham’s senior defender Joergen Oland (Drammen, Norway).
The MAC Hermann Trophy, presented by World Wide Technology, is the most prestigious individual award in college soccer and given annually to the most outstanding male and female players of the year. The Hermann Trophy winners will be announced on January 10,
Oland is the fifth Ram to be listed on the Hermann Award Watch List, joining Janos Loebe (2018), Nathaniel Bekoe (2012), Ryan Meara (2010 & 2011), and Tim Richardson (2011). Oland is the lone representative from the Atlantic 10.
Oland was the 2018 Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection as a junior, after garnering Second Team

The MAC Hermann Trophy Watch Lists are compiled by members of the United Soccer Coaches Men’s and Women’s NCAA Division I All-America Committees. Fifteen semifinalists will be named for both the men’s and women’s MAC Hermann Trophy near the end of the college season based on voting by NCAA Division I coaches and from those candidates, three finalists will ultimately be placed on the ballot for the coveted award.
