FAIRFAX, Va. - The eighth-seeded VCU Rams earned a spot in the 2015 Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Championship final with a 1-0 victory over fourth-seeded Fordham on Friday at George Mason Stadium.

VCU will face the winner of the second semifinal contest, No. 2 Dayton or No. 6 Rhode Island, Sunday at noon, on American Sports Network.

VCU held the slight advantage at half with six shots to Fordham's five, while two for VCU were on target.

With less than a minute remaining in the first half, Rafael Andrade Santos controlled the ball through the midfield, stopping near the 40 yard mark and firing a strike into the top left corner of the net past a diving Rashid Nuhu for the lone goal of the match. The tally was Santos' fifth of year, and second of the weekend.

Fordham pressured offensively, taking six corner kicks in the second frame, but their best two chances were knocked away on the goal line by VCU's RJ Roberts. Pierre Gardan added two saves in goal for his eighth shutout of the season.
