WASHINGTON – Led by four scorers in double-figures, No. 6 Saint Louis rallied to defeat No. 11 George Washington, 70-63, Thursday night in the Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Championship Second Round.
The sixth-seeded Billikens (17-15) advance to a Friday quarterfinal matchup against No. 3 seed Davidson (18-11).
Jalen Johnson led all scorers with 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting and was 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. Also, in double-figures for the Billikens were Javon Bess with 16 points, Davell Roby with 15 points and Hasahn French chipped in 11 points.
George Washington jumped out to a 32-21 lead at halftime. Saint Louis outscored the Colonials 49-31 in the second half, sparked by a 9-0 run midway through the second half as the Billikens made three-straight 3-pointers.
Jair Bolden scored 16 points to lead George Washington.
