RICHMOND, Va. – The St. Bonaventure Bonnies (8-9-1) advanced to the 2013 Atlantic 10 Women’s Soccer Championship semifinals with a 1-0 win over George Mason (7-11-1). The Bonnies will face top-seeded Dayton on Friday at 7:30 at Sports Backers Stadium.

After more than 75 minutes of scoreless play, Brittany Charles drew Mason goalkeeper Lyndse Hokanson out of the net before passing to sophomore Abby Maiello who had an open net for the eventual game winner, her first goal on the season.

Mason  held the shots advantage, 15-8, but could not get past Bona goalkeeper, Megan Junker, who registered six saves on the game.

The was the sixth-consecutive Championship appearance for the Bonnies, who improved to 2-5 in postseason with tonight’s win.

Friday's first semifinal match-up between second-seeded La Salle and sixth-seeded Massachusetts will begin at 5:30 pm, while No. 4 St. Bonaventure and No. 1 Dayton will face off in the 7:30 pm game.
