Cross Country Academic All-Conference Teams Announced

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Academic All-Conference teams were announced by the league Wednesday, comprised of student-athletes who were selected based on their performance on the trails, as well as in the classroom. To be nominated, runners must have a GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale) for their entire academic career.

Making up the Men’s Cross Country Academic All-Conference team are Dayton’s Stephen Mackell, La Salle’s Vince Perozze, Dan Day, and Alfredo Santana, and Saint Louis’ Tim Zellmer and Michael Scolarici.

On the women’s side, Katie Clark, who finished first at the 2012 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championship with a time of 16:55.9, is joined by teammate Mara Olson, Dayton’s Lizzie Gleason, La Salle’s Wendy Hutchinson, Richmond’s Jill Prentice, and Saint Joseph’s Emma Slattery.
