Richmond, Va. Fordham held St. Bonaventure to just 16.7 percent shooting (9-54) for the game, including 8.0 percent (2-25) in the first half en route to posting a 73-32 victory over the Bonnies in the semifinal round of the Atlantic 10 Women’s Basketball Tournament at the Richmond Coliseum.

The Rams jumped out to an early 11-0 lead, led by Hannah Missry’s three consecutive three-pointers, by the 15:47 mark. Katie Healy put the Bonnies on the board with a jumper at the 14:38 mark, but St. Bonaventure went 1-of-15 over the rest of the half to go into the intermission down 38-4.

The Rams shot a blistering 59.3 percent (16-27) from the field and 60.0 percent (6-10) from the three-point line in the first half. The offensive attack was led by Missry, who went 4-of-6 from behind the arc. Fordham also held a 24-12 edge on the glass and forced the Bonnies into seven turnovers.

The Bonnies improved statistically in the second half, improving to 24.1 percent (7-29) from the floor and 28.6 (2-7) from behind the arc, but could not overcome the 34 point deficit.

For the game, Fordham held an advantage in rebounds (43-29) and assists (17-4) . The Rams finished the game shooting 57.7 percent (30-52) from the field and 59.1 percent (13-22) from three. Despite its hot shooting, Fordham did not attempt a free-throw the entire game.

St. Bonaventure’s 16.7 percent (9-54) was the lowest field goal percentage in an A-10 Championship Tournament game since UMass shot 22 percent in 1992, while its nine field goals marks the fewest made shots in an A-10 Championship Tournament game since Virginia Tech recorded 11 shots in 1996. The Bonnies 32 points also marks the fewest point total in an A-10 Championship Tournament game since Temple notched 35 points in 1997.

Missry led Fordham with 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the three-point line, while Erin Rooney tallied 10 points and seven rebounds. Abigail Corning added nine points and a game-high five assists.

Healy was the only St. Bonaventure player in double-figures, finishing with 12 points and nine rebounds. Nyla Rueter chipped in eight points, while Hannah Little pulled in a game-high 11 rebounds.

Fordham advances to the Atlantic 10 Women’s Basketball Tournament Championship game, where it will face top-seeded Dayton at 11:00 am tomorrow.
