Little & Stingy Defense Lead St. Bonaventure Over La Salle

Richmond, Va. – Hannah Little scored 22 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in vaulting second-seeded St. Bonaventure to a 54-42 victory over seventh-seeded La Salle in the Quarterfinals of the 2014 Atlantic 10 Conference Championship in Richmond, Va.

St. Bonaventure advances to Saturday’s semifinals where it will face the winner of third-seeded Fordham and sixth-seeded Duquesne.   La Salle finishes its season 15-15.

Nyla Rueter scored 14 points and Katie Healy chipped in with 11 points of her own.  Including Little, the trio combined to score 47 of SBU’s 54 points.

La Salle got 18 points from Alicia Cropper and 14 points from Micahya Owens, while Leeza Burdgess grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.

The Bonnies defense held La Salle to 22.2 percent shooting, allowing La Salle to make just 14-of-63 attempts from the field.

SBU made 15-of-40 attempts from the field and converted 21-of-27 free-throw attempts in the victory as well.
