RICHMOND, Va. – La Salle got 24 points from Micahya Owens and a 14 point, 13 rebound double-double from Siobhan Beslow as the Explorers topped Davidson 74-63 in the First-Round of the 2015 Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Basketball Championship.

La Salle improves to 15-15 overall and advances to play sixth-seeded Rhode Island at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Davidson closes out the year 5-25.

During the first half, La Salle led by as many as 10 points but Davidson continued to chip away until they tied it up with 1:38 remaining. It didn't stay tied for long however, as Owens sank a three-pointer with 54 seconds remaining to send La Salle into the intermission with a 33-30 lead.

A Mackenzie Latt bucket to open the second stanza cut the Explorers lead to one, but that would be as close as the Wildcats would get as La Salle went on a 12-3 run, opening up a 45-35 advantage with 15 minutes to play.

During the second half La Salle led by as many as 17 points on its way to the 11 point victory.

Hannah Early contributed 23 points and Latt added 16 for the Wildcats, which shot  44.6% overall from the field.
