ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - St. Bonaventure University women's basketball head coach Jim Crowley has agreed to a contract extension through 2017, Athletics Director Steve Watson announced on Wednesday.
Crowley, now entering his 16th season at Bona's and 12th as head coach, has guided the program to three consecutive 20-win seasons and WNIT berths to go with a 67-33 overall record in the past three years.
"This extension represents our commitment to Jim and the women's basketball program," said Watson. "On and off the court, Jim has built a model program and we anticipate their continued success under his leadership."
A Windsor, N.Y. native, Crowley was named the Bonnies' head coach in March of 2000 after four seasons as the team's top assistant. Prior to joining St. Bonaventure, Crowley served as the head coach at his alma mater Keuka College from 1993 to 1996.
"I'm fortunate to have worked with a special group of players and assistant coaches," added Crowley. "I appreciate the University's faith in our ongoing achievements in the classroom and in competition."
The Bonnies bring back all but one starter and nine of 11 letterwinners from last year's squad that went 21-12 (9-5 Atlantic 10) and advanced to the second round of the WNIT. Seniors Megan Van Tatenhove, a Second Team All-Atlantic 10 selection, and Jessica Jenkins, one of the top 3-point shooters in school history, both return for their final campaign.
