NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – La Salle’s Jason Plumhoff has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week, while George Washington freshman Tobi Adewole was named the A-10 Rookie of the Week for matches played Oct. 7 – Oct. 13.

Plumoff helped the Explorers open their A-10 slate of games with a pair of wins by registering seven points over the weekend. The Ellicott City, Md. native recorded a pair of game-winning goals and dished out three assists in victories over Duquesne and St. Bonaventure.  Against the Dukes on Friday, Plumhoff scored a goal and added a pair of helpers before scoring one goal and notching an assist in a 2-1 La Salle win over the Bonnies.  Plumhoff’s offensive output vaulted him into second-place among his A-10 peers with 19 points on the season. His six goals are tied for second in the conference, while his seven assists are tied for tops in the A-10.

Adewole was a key member of GW’s defense which allowed just one goal in 220 minutes against No. 19 Dayton and defending Atlantic 10 champion Saint Louis. The Ashton, Md. native started both games and played 195 minutes, third-most on the team and most among freshmen, as the Colonials shutout the Flyers – the highest-scoring team in the country – in a scoreless draw and tied the Billikens, 1-1. Adewole, who played all 110 minutes against Dayton on Friday, also took two shots against SLU on Sunday.
