NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Saint Francis’ Autumn Pellman and Richmond’s Rebecca Barry have been named Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Co-Players of the Week, while SFU’s Samantha Zeiders was tabbed as the A-10 Rookie of the Week for games played between Oct. 7 – Oct. 13.

Pellman led the way for Saint Francis offensively this past weekend. In Friday’s first ever Atlantic 10 Conference game for SFU, Pellman posted two goals including the game winner against Lock Haven. SFU took the match 4-3. On Sunday, in SFU’s final non-conference match-up of the season, Pellman again recorded two goals and another game-winning goal. Pellman’s goal total is now up to 13 which leads the team and her goals per game average is in top 10 in the entire nation. SFU is now on a three game winning streak, and Pellman has scored in each of the contests.

A native of Limerick, Ireland, Barry led the Spiders to a 2-0 week.  In a 6-1 victory over VCU, the junior midfielder connected for her third-career hat trick. Barry scored three of the six Spider goals to help Richmond start the A-10 1-0. Barry’s 25 points and 10 goals this season both rank fourth in the A-10.

Zeiders has significantly helped Saint Francis since earning the starting spot in between the pipes four games ago. SFU is 3-1 in those contests and picked up two wins this past weekend. In a 4-3 win against Lock Haven in the Red Flash’ first ever Atlantic 10 Conference game, Zeiders posted a career-best eight saves and picked up her second win of the year. On Sunday, SFU traveled to Monmouth for its final non-conference game of the season. Zeiders earned a shutout in the 3-0 victory and posted her third win of her four games played.
