NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Saint Louis’ Jordair Jett has been named the Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while George Mason’s Jalen Jenkins has been tabbed as the league’s Rookie of the Week for games played Jan. 6 – Jan. 12.
Jett helped the Billikens to a pair of A-10 road wins at Rhode Island and at Dayton. Jett scored a career-high 31 points against the Rams on Tuesday. The St. Paul, Minn., native converted 10-of-18 shots from the floor, including a pair of three-pointers. Jett’s performance against Rhody marked the first time since the 2009-10 season that SLU player has eclipsed the 30 point mark. In a win at Dayton on Saturday, Jett scored 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting, while dishing out five assists and grabbing four rebounds.
Jenkins averaged 15 points and 9.5 rebounds in a pair of games for the Patriots. The Brooklyn, N.Y., native recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds at VCU on Thursday. On Saturday, Jenkins tallied a career-high 20 points, while snaring seven boards. Jenkins made 8-of-10 shots from the floor against the Hawks and had five steals on the defensive end of the floor.

Jordan Sibert led Dayton in a hard-fought effort against Saint Louis with 15 points, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range ... Branden Frazier had 15 points and six assists for Fordham at Duquesne, and then tallied 29 points against Richmond, hitting 11-of-20 from the field ... Fordham freshman Jon Severe scored 35 points at Duquesne, sinking seven 3-pointers ... Patrick Holloway averaged 10.5 points in George Mason’s first two Atlantic 10 games ... George Washington’s Patricio Garino was consistent from the field last week, hitting 6-of-8 in both GW games for 15 points versus La Salle and 14 against Rhode Island ... Tyreek Duren scroed 23 points and dished out six assists in La Salle’s win at Duquesne ... Chaz Williams had 22 points in Massachusetts’ game versus Saint Joseph’s and nine assists in the St. Bonaventure win ... Rhody freshman Hassan Martin scored 16 points on 8-of-9 shooting with 10 rebounds against GW ... Bona’s Youssou Ndoye had a 19-point, 11-rebounds double-double in the Bonnies’ win over Richmond ... Saint Joseph’s Halil Kanacevic average 21 points last week, including a 19-point, 13-rebound, six-assist effort at UMass ... Treveon Graham tallied 15 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double in the Rams only game last week, a win over Mason.
