>The Duquesne women’s basketball team recorded its 500th program victory after defeating Saint Louis on Saturday afternoon 59-47. Wumi Agunbiade led the Dukes with a double-double of game-highs 17 points and 10 rebounds. She was a perfect 7-for-7 from the foul line. >George Washington  outscored Atlantic 10 rival Saint Louis by 24 points in the second half as the Colonials won their eighth straight game, 84-61, on Wednesday evening at the Charles E. Smith Center. GW improves to 12-4 overall, its best start since 2007-08, and moves to 3-0 in A-10 play for the first time since 2006-07. The Colonials’ eight-game win streak is their longest since taking nine straight from Dec. 1, 2007-Jan. 16, 2008.

>The La Salle women’s basketball squad continued to roll on Saturday, defeating Massachusetts 78-41 behind a career-high 23 points from Micahya Owens. The 37-point margin of victory is the largest since the 1997-98 squad toppled Rhode Island by 37 in an 81-44 decision. The win moves the Explorers to 4-0 in Atlantic 10 play, the first time the program has started league play with a 4-0 record since La Salle joined the A-10 in the 1995-96 season. They improve their overall record to 9-7, the best record through 16 games since the 2008-09 squad also went 9-7 through 16.

>Following a victory over Saint Joseph’s on Sunday, VCU has already won four more games than all of last seaand improves its best start in school history to 15-2.  Those 15 victories are more than 23 different VCU programs have won during an entire season.  VCU’s win over Saint Joseph’s marked its second over a top-60 RPI squad in its last three games.  The Hawks entered the Sunday’s contest with the 10th highest RPI in the nation.
