NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Fordham’s Gabby Luety and Massachusetts’ Bridget Lemire have been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Softball Co-Players of the Week for games played April 7–13.  Michele Daubman of Fordham and Caroline Raymond of Massachusetts were named Co-Pitchers of the Week while Jena Cozza of Massachusetts was also honored as the Rookie of the Week.

Luety, a senior from Cortland, N.Y., batted .450 for the week (9-for-20) with four home runs and 11 RBI over a six game stretch for the Rams. In a Sunday doubleheader against Binghamton, Luety recorded three home runs and eight RBI to go along with four runs scored. For the week she had an on-base percentage of .476 and a slugging percentage of 1.100.

Lemire, a junior from Worcester, Mass., hit .583 for the week (7-for-12) with four home runs, 10 RBI and six runs scored as the Minutewomen posted a record of 3-1. In a Saturday doubleheader against St. Bonaventure, Lemire recorded three home runs, eight RBI and four runs scored. She recorded her first career multi-home run game in game one of the doubleheader.

Daubman, a junior from North Massapequa, N.Y., went 2-0 on the week with victories against Army and Rhode Island. Against the Black Knights on Thursday, Daubman tossed five innings of three-hit softball before departing to pickup the victory. She followed that performance with a complete game shutout against Rhode Island in which she surrendered only four hits. For the week, she was 2-0 with an ERA of 0.00 over 12 innings pitched while allowing only seven base hits and walking two. Daubman has not given up a run in her last 18 innings pitched.

Raymond, a redshirt junior from Downingtown, Pa., posted a record of 3-1 last week with a pair of complete game victories, 15 strikeouts and an ERA of 1.35. For the week, Raymond pitched 20.2 innings, allowing four earned runs on 11 base hits. She picked up victories against Connecticut and in both games of a doubleheader against St. Bonaventure. Her only loss was in walk-off fashion in a game against Boston College in which she tossed 9.2 innings allowing only three hits.

Cozza batted .583 (7-for-12) in four games last week with three multi-hit outings. The Wantagh, N.Y. native, hit one home run, recorded five RBI and scored six runs for the week to help lead the Minutewomen to a record of 3-1 for the week. The home run, a grand slam in game one of the doubleheader against St. Bonaventure, was her second career home run.
