“For fine Italian I prefer Cunnetos on the hill, Charlie Gittos on the hill or Zias. For sandwich spots I like Picklemans and Pickles Deli. For BBQ, I like Pappys and The Shaved Duck.“
--Head Baseball Coach Darin Hendrickson
“Head to Pastaria in St. Louis. By far the best Italian food the city has to offer with fresh pasta and pizza handmade in the window. Don't forget to try their in house made gelato. “
--Assistant Baseball Coach Connor Gandossy
“There are so many great options in the city. For a great burger, head to Stacked or Bailey’s Range. You can get some great fried chicken at Hodak’s or The Old Standard. If you want a great sandwich, the city’s hidden gem is a deli counter at LeGrands. “
--Media Relations Associate Jake Gossage
My two favorite spots for Vegans and Carnivores alike are Broadway Oyster Bar and Mission Taco. Oyster Bar is one of the "St. Louis" restaurants, something you wouldn't know about unless you're local. Very eclectic menu with great food.”
--Academic Coordinator Royce Tippett
“Can’t go wrong with Pappy’s for great BBQ. Anywhere on The Hill (local Italian neighborhood): Favazzas, Mama Campizzis, etc.”
--Assistant Soccer Coach Michael Robson
“Felix’s in Dogtown is a great pizza place. They serve great pizza and have some really good trashed wings. Crown Candy is the best milkshake in town.”
--Head Track and Field Coach Jon Bell
“Charlie Gitto’s on the hill. The food is great and the atmosphere is really relaxed. The Fountain on Locust is unique and really close to campus. They have good food and make their own ice cream and chocolates.”
--Assistant Volleyball Coach Alli Arbogast
"Some of the nation's best barbecue is right around the corner from SLU. Pappy's has the best pulled pork, brisket, pulled chicken and ribs out there. Their deep fried corn on the cob and sweet potato fires are the best!"
--Head Volleyball Coach Kent Miller
“The Slider House is my favorite! Have you ever been to a great burger place but haven't been able to choose just one? Well, fortunately at the Slider House they have great burgers and since they are sliders you can choose all of the combinations you want! Union Loafers for a great deli sandwich! Shaved Duck is a St. Louis secret for barbecue!”
--Head Field Hockey Coach Danielle Baumgardner
“Baileys Range is my favorite place to grab a burger in STL. Lots of unique combinations and they all work.”
Assistant Volleyball Coach Ben Spurlock
