Flyers Fall At College of Charleston, 94-84, In The NIT First Round

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Chris Wright recorded 21 points and 13 rebounds as the Dayton Flyers lost 94-84 to the College of Charleston Cougars in the NIT First Round.

Juniors Paul Williams scored 15 points, Chris Johnson added 14 points and eight rebounds and Luke Fabrizius also reached double figures with 12.

Senior guard Andrew Goudelock scored a career-high 39 points to lead the College of Charleston. The Southern Conference player of the year made 8-of-15 3-pointers, some of them from well beyond the arc.

Trailing by 18 with 8:30 to go, the Flyers cut it to 77-70 with 2:37 left on a Luke Fabrizius 3-pointer. After a turnover by the Cougars (25-10), Fabrizius had another 3, but it rolled around and came out. And UD couldn't get it under seven again.

The senior class leaves UD as the all-time winningest in the program's history with 97 victories.

Dayton closes the 2010-11 campaign 22-14 overall.
