NEWPORT NEWS, Va. –La Salle junior Kelsey Haycook and Saint Louis freshman Cristina Rodriguez have been named Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Soccer Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, the league announced Monday, for games played Oct.  28 - Nov. 3.

Haycook strongly contributed to both victories for the Explorers in their last weekend of the season as they took down Dayton, who had been previously undefeated in conference play, and George Mason, en route to earning the second overall seed for this week’s A-10 Women’s Soccer Championship. The Point Pleasant, N.J. native, recorded an assist along with her 14th goal of the season in La Salle’s 2-0 defeat of Dayton on Friday. She followed with another strong performance against the Patriots on Sunday as she contributed two assists in La Salle’s 5-0 win over Mason.

Rodriguez drove home a goal in the 11th minute of action that proved to be all the Billikens would need to defeat VCU on the road, 1-0. The goal by the St. Charles, Mo., product, was her second of the season and assured Saint Louis the third overall seed in the week’s A-10 Women’s Soccer Championship.
