Making its first Elite 8 appearance since 1984, the Flyers were limited offensively shooting 40 percent from the field. Dayton was out-rebounded 37-26 and allowed 12 Gator offensive rebounds.

Florida used a 15-1 run in the final 4:23 of the first half to take a 38-24 lead to the locker room. The Gators had a double-digit lead for most of the second half as well.

But Dayton slowly chipped away and cut the deficit to 58-50 with 2:37 remaining. The Flyers had chances to move closer, but committed a foul, missed a field goal and turned the ball over in the following three possessions.

Dayton finishes the season 26-11 overall. The 26 wins were the third-most in the program’s history.
