Newport News, Va. – Saint Francis senior Autumn Pellman has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week, while Mellissa Herd was tabbed as the A-10 Rookie of the Week.

Autumn Pellman started off her senior season as well as she could have, scoring five goals in the two games of the opening weekend. Pellman scored three goals against Lehigh to open the season on Sunday, including the eventual game winner in the 5-2 decision. A native of Millersville, Pa., Pellman scored two goals in SFU's first ever program win over Rider in 15 attempts. The Red Flash trailed the majority of the game, but it was Pellman who put in the game winner in the overtime period and SFU won 3-2.

Herd started both of the Hawks' first two games this weekend and scored her first career goal in Sunday's 4-1 win over Towson. The Perkasie, Pa., is the only freshman on the Hawk roster to start both games thus far this season. The Hawks opened the season 2-0 for the first time since 2006, topping Lehigh, 2-1, on Friday before routing Towson, 4-1, on Sunday.
