ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Saint Louis senior forward Kingsley Bryce is one of 30 NCAA Division I men’s soccer players selected as a candidate for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award for collegiate soccer. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition.

A team captain, Bryce was named second-team All-Conference by the Atlantic 10 last season after registering 20 points (8G, 4A). He was named the Most Outstanding Player of the A-10 Championship in 2012 after leading the Billikens to the A-10 title. Bryce has 42 career points (17G, 8A).

A psychology major (biology minor) with aspirations of entering the medical field, Bryce maintains a GPA around 3.5. He is a five-time honoree on the A-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll, which goes to student-athletes who complete a semester with a 3.5 GPA or higher.

Bryce is president of SLU’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, a group of student-athletes who work with the department of athletics to ensure a positive experience for the more than 350 SLU student-athletes. In addition, Bryce was named the recipient of the Mark Demling Award, which goes to a SLU soccer player who puts the team first and foremost and gives everything he has to the team.

In the community, Bryce helps organize a yearly community project with KEEN (Kids Enjoy Exercise Now) on the SLU campus involving all SLU athletics programs. Along with the men’s soccer team, Bryce is also active with SPENSA (Special Needs Soccer Association).

In October, a national media committee will select 10 finalists for the Senior CLASS Award. Those 10 names will be placed on the official ballot for a nationwide vote. Fan balloting will be coupled with votes from coaches and media to determine the recipient of the award.
