NEWPORT NEWS, Va.—Massachusetts’ Trent Kindvall and George Mason’s Sydney Fisher were named the Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Performers of the Week.  Also honored were George Mason’s Attila Kiss, who was named the Men’s Rookie of the Week, and Maja Boric of Massachusetts, who was named the Women’s Rookie of the Week.  The awards were based off performances from meets held Oct. 31-Nov. 6

Kindvall, a junior from Westminster, Colo., won both the one-meter and three-meter diving events as the UMass men's swimming and diving team competed in a tri-meet with Brown and Yale last Saturday. Kindvall won the three-meter board with a score of 277.60 points and the one-meter event with a score of 267.55 points.

Fisher, a senior from Richmond, Va., recorded first-place finishes in the 50-yd freestyle (23.14) and the 100-yd freestyle (51.27) in a tri-meet against Northeastern and Towson over the weekend.

Kiss, a freshman from Miskolc, Hungary, finished first in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 15:55.18, winning the event by nearly 10 seconds to lead the Patriots.

Boric, a freshman from Zagreb, Croatia, added another NCAA zone qualifying mark to her resume after taking second-place in the three-meter dive with 302.15 points in a tri-meet with Brown and Yale. Boric also placed second one-meter board. Saturday's performance on the three-meter board also set a new freshman record for the three-meter event and stands as the fifth-best dive in UMass program history.
