Triple-Double Earns Cline Men's Basketball Player of the Week
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Richmond senior T.J. Cline was chosen as the Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week while Duquesne freshman Isiaha Mike was chosen as the league’s Rookie of the Week. The awards, announced Monday and presented by Come Ready Nutrition, are for games played Jan. 23-29.
Cline tallied the first triple-double in school history in a win over Duquesne, scoring 34 points with 12 rebounds and 11 assists. The forward from Plano, Texas, also had a double-double in a win over Rhode Island with 21 points and 13 rebounds. For the week, he averaged 27.5 points and 12.5 rebounds, shooting 69.0 percent from the field. His assist to turnover ratio was 3.8 as he had 15 total assists. The honor is Cline’s fourth A-10 Player of the Week award this season.
Mike averaged 19.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in Duquesne's two games last week. He went 5-of-12 from 3-point range and 7-of-10 from the foul line. The forward from Scarborough, Ontario, opened the week with 15 points, six rebounds and three blocks at Davidson. He followed that with a team-high 23 points and five rebounds at Richmond. Mike, who earned his third A-10 Rookie of the Week award this season, was on fire early in the game with the Spiders, scoring 19 in the first half versus the Spiders.

Davidson’s Jack Gibbs had a monster week, averaging 30 points and shooting 70 percent (7-of-10) from 3-point range and a perfect 13-for-13 from the line, including 32 points against Duquesne … Wildcat freshman KiShawn Pritchett had 10 points and six rebounds in the win over Duquesne, then reversed those numbers with six points and 10 rebounds in the win at Fordham … Emilie Blackman averaged 19 points and 6.5 rebounds per game and was 6-of-10 (.600) from 3-point range in two games for Duquesne … Tyler Cavanaugh averaged 19 points per game in a pair of wins for George Washington, shooting 48 percent (12-of-25) from the field, 50 percent (5-for-10) from 3-point range and 9-of-10 (.900) from the line … Kuran Iverson had 23 rebounds (11 offensive, 12 defensive) for Rhode Island on the road against Richmond, which is tied for the fifth most in Division I this season … St. Bonaventure’s Jaylen Adams scored 19 points and dished out five assists in the Bonnies’ win over Saint Joseph’s, including a perfect 7-of-7 from the line while also scoring 25 points with five assists against Rhode Island … Bona freshman Josh Ayeni averaged 11 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in a split week for the Bonnies, hitting 8-of-9 (.889) from the line … Davell Roby averaged 15 points in a win and a loss for Saint Louis, scoring 17 points in the win over UMass and 13 at George Washington … Billiken freshman Elliot Welmer went 7-for-11 (.636), including 4-for-7 (.571) en route to 18 points on the road against GW …. Justin Tillman had 18 points, nine rebounds and was 9-of-13 from the field in VCU’s first-place victory over Dayton Friday …VCU freshman Samir Doughty had 11 points, five rebounds and five assists for the Rams in the key win over the Flyers.
