WASHINGTON - Senior Andrea Bolognesi is set to represent George Washington for the second-consecutive year at the 2017 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships hosted by IUPUI and Indiana Sports Corporation in Indianapolis from March 22-25.

Bolognesi qualified for the Championships after another stellar showing at the Atlantic 10 Championships, leading the Colonials to their first-ever conference title and earning Most Outstanding Swimmer for the second-straight season. A year ago, Bolognesi became the program's first All-American at the NCAA Championships, finishing eighth overall to take First Team honors in the 100-yard breaststroke with a GW and A-10 record time of 52.06.

The Cuveglio, Italy, native will compete in the 100 and 200 breast at this year's Championships. At the A-10 Championships, Bolognesi posted an NCAA 'B' cut time of 52.24 in the 100 breast in his gold medal performance before clocking in at 1:57.69 - a GW record and NCAA 'B' cut time - in the 200 breast.

Bolognesi ranks 12th in the nation in the 100 breast and 45th in the 200 breast heading into the week.

The top 16 swimmers from each morning preliminary will earn a spot in the finals, with the top-8 competing for a national title and First Team All-America honors, and finishers 9-16 competing for Honorable Mention. Preliminaries will begin at 10 a.m. with finals starting at 6 p.m. Bolognesi will compete in the 100 breast on Friday and the 200 breast on Saturday.
