Santelli, Reader, Frischmann and Harlos Earn Outdoor Track and Field Weekly Honors

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Fordham’s Louis Santelli and Saint Louis’ Michael Reader were named the Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Co-Performers of the Week while Dayton’s Leah Frischmann and Saint Louis’ Ann Harlos were named the Women’s Co-Performers of the Week. Also honored was Rhode Island’s Maxwell Dickens, who was awarded Men’s Rookie of the Week and VCU’s Dajae Goulet who was named Women’s Rookie of the Week. The awards were based off performances held from April 3-9.

 

Santelli, a junior from Huntington, N.Y., had a strong showing at the Mason Spring Invitational this past weekend. He finished second in the 800-meter run with a season-best and top ranked time in the A-10 of 1:52.59.

 

Reader, a native from Appleton, Wis., won the high jump at the SLU Invitational with a mark of 1.95 meters. The seniors mark is tied for the top height in the A-10 this season.

 

Frischmann took first place in the pole vault at the Illinois State Redbird Invitational with a season-best mark of 3.65 meters. The junior from Indianapolis, Ind., currently is  tied for first in the A-10 and ranks nationally in the NCAA East Region.

 

Harlos set a personal record in the 400 meter hurdles at the SLU Invitational last weekend. The sophomore from Eden Prairie, Minn., crossed the line in 1:01.23, which currently ranks as the fastest time in the A-10 this season, and ranks in the top 50 in the NCAA West Region.

 

Dickens ran a personal record of 53.03 seconds to finish fifth at the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational in the 400 meter hurdles. His time is second in the conference and ranks 40th in the NCAA East Region. The freshman from Lumberton, N.J., also led off the 4x400 meter relay that finished fourth overall in 3:12.92.

 

Goulet posted two top-five Atlantic 10 times this weekend at the Mason Spring Invitational. The Suffolk, Va., native ran a time of 12.14 seconds to place fifth in the 100 meter dash, ranking third in the A-10. The rookie also placed third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.89 seconds, putting her fifth in the A-10 in in the event.
