UMass' Kopec Earns Bronze at Canada Games

WINNIPEG, Manitoba – University of Massachusetts women's track and field multi-eventers Kira Kopec and Bridget Deveau wrapped up competition in heptathlon at the Canada Games on Friday. The final standings saw Kopec earn bronze with a personal record 4,950 points, while Deveau landed fifth.
Kopec opened day two by scoring 637 points in long jump with a fourth-place mark of 17 feet, four inches, was third in javelin, earning 561 points, and posted 732 points in the 800m run.
Deveau's collected 881 points with her runner-up showing in 800m run to help propel her to fifth with a score of 4,741 points.
