NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Saint Louis sophomore Evie Lavelle and La Salle senior Kristin Haugstad have been named the Atlantic 10 Conference women's soccer Co-Offensive Players of the Week, the league announced Monday, after the opening weekend of the 2017 season. VCU's Audrey Sanderson was named Defensive Player of the Week, while Billikens freshman Olivia Petit was named Rookie of the Week.

Sanderson, a redshirt-junior from Nashville, Tenn., turned in a clean sheet in the Rams' official opening game on Sunday, blocking all five shots that she faced, earning the Rams a 2-0 win at Liberty. After a slow first half, Sanderson anchored the Rams defense, holding the Flames scoreless through 90 minutes of play. Going back to the Rams final game of the 2016 season, Sanderson now has turned in two shutouts in a row.
Petit, an Akron, Ohio, product, found the back of the net three times in the Bills' opening pair of games. Against the RedHawks, the rookie netted her first collegiate goal in the 39th minute, giving SLU a 3-0 win. She then tallied two first-half goals in a 3-0 victory over Vanderbilt.
