NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — George Washington junior Logan Lowe was selected as the Atlantic 10 Conference Golfer of the Week, while Saint Joseph‘s freshman Wills Montgomery was chosen as the league’s Rookie of the Week. The awards were are for events played from Oct. 19 – Oct. 25.
Lowe shot a final round 68 on last Sunday to overcome a three-shot deficit and win the Camden Collegiate Invitational by a stroke. Lowe, who came into the day two-under par and three shots back of the lead. He finished the tournament with a 4-under 206 (68-70-68). The win is the second of the Grass Valley, Calif., native’s career. During a season in which he already set GW's school record for low round when he fired a 64 at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate, Lowe adds his name to the record books again with the lowest 54-hole tournament in school history. He finishes the fall with a 70.13 scoring average in 15 rounds.
Montgomery tied for 57th at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate. He fired a 222 in the three-round tournament, with a round-by-round score of 74-76-72. The Exton, Pa., product’s efforts helped George Washington finish tied for 14th out of 18 teams.
