Gorich's Golden Goal Sends No. 1 UMass to Championship Final

DAYTON, OHIO - Top-seeded Massachusetts topped defending Atlantic 10 Champion and fifth-seeded Fordham 1-0 in overtime Friday night in the 2017 Atlantic 10 #MSOC Championship. UMass will face the winner of the second-seeded VCU and sixth-seeded Rhode Island game in the championship at noon on Sunday.

In a defensive battle for over 90 minutes of play, Massachusetts' Konrad Gorich found the back of the net off the assist from Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, Davis Smith. There were plenty of shots in the game, UMass finished with 12 shots compared to Fordham's 9 shots. 

Massachusetts' goalkeeper Bardia Asefnia stopped every shot he faced, as he finished with two saves in net. First Team All-Conference goalkeeper Rashid Nuhu finished with three saves in net for the Rams.
