NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — VCU clinched the Atlantic 10 volleyball regular season title with a perfect 14-0 conference record and will be the top seed for the 2017 A-10 Championship, which begins Friday at Duquesne’s A.J. Palumbo Center.

All three rounds of the A-10 championship will be streamed for free on the A-10 Network. The winner of the single-elimination championship will advance to the NCAA Tournament.

VCU posted its first A-10 regular season title and will receive a bye into the semifinals of the A-10 Championship. The Rams enter the championship with a record of 28-2 overall and on a 25-match winning streak, the nation’s longest winning streak. VCU is the first team other than Dayton to capture the volleyball regular season since Duquesne in 2013.

Dayton is seeded second and will also receive a bye into the semifinals. The Flyers finished second in the A-10 standings at 13-1, while posting a 22-7 mark overall.

Saint Louis finished the conference slate 10-4, good for the third seed in the championship. The Billikens, at 13-14 overall, will play Friday at 5:30 pm ET in the second semifinal against sixth-seeded George Washington. The Colonials, 10-20 overall and 6-8 in the A-10, were the sixth-seed after losing a head-to-head tiebreak to Rhode Island.

Championship host Duquesne, 13-15 overall and 8-6 in league play, will serve as the four-seed and will play fifth-seed Rhode Island (6-8) in the first quarterfinal on Friday at 3:00 pm ET.

VCU will play the Duquesne/Rhode Island winner at 2:00 pm on Saturday and Dayton faces the Saint Louis/George Washington winner at 4:30 pm Saturday. The championship final will be played at 1:00 pm Sunday.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children and are available on-site at the championship. Students with a valid ID from Atlantic 10 member institutions are admitted free.
