Atlantic 10 Commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade will be a featured panelist and keynote speaker at two prestigious events in April and May.
On Friday, April 13, McGlade will be the keynote speaker at the second annual Women in Sports Media Symposium at the Integrative Learning Center on the campus of Atlantic 10 Conference member the University of Massachusetts.
Other featured speakers include ESPN editors Cristina Daglas, Jena Janovy, Christina Karl and Joy Russo Schoenfield, The event is sponsored by the UMass journalism department, Women for UMass Amherst, the communication department and the Mark H. McCormack department of sport management.
On Tuesday, May 1, McGlade will join a panel of diverse leaders at the Aspen Institute discussion on payment of student athletes, women’s sports and NCAA governance in Washington, D.C. Panelists include Dan Radakovich, Clemson athletic director and a former member of the College Football Selection Committee, John Thompson III, former head basketball coach at Georgetown, and Gabe Feldman, Tulane Sports Law program director and the associate provost for NCAA compliance. The conversation will be moderated by Jon Solomon, editorial director of the Sports & Society Program, and will include discussions on payment of student athletes, women’s sports and NCAA governance
McGlade is completing her tenth year as commissioner of the 14-member Atlantic 10 Conference.
