NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Lock Haven senior Tamia Roach and Saint Joseph’s senior Anna Willocks were named Atlantic 10 Conference Field Hockey Co-Players of the Week, while Saint Louis freshman Emily Wastell was chosen as the A-10 Rookie of the Week. The awards are for games played from Aug. 27 – Sept. 2.

Roach led Lock Haven to a pair of home wins this past weekend thanks to three goals, one assist and eight total points. In Friday’s 6-0 win over Towson, the midfielder scored twice, and in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Cornell, she had a goal and an assist. Hailing from Petit Valley, Trinidad and Tobago, Roach leads LHU with four goals and 10 points (4G, 2A) this season. The two wins moved Lock Haven to 3-1 on the season and 2-0 at home.

Willocks scored the lone goal in the Hawks' 1-0 win at No. 9 Delaware on Friday night. The Palmerston North, New Zealand, native was setup for the goal following a penalty corner. The goal was the 60th of her forward’s career and her 17th game-winner, and marked the second straight year the Hawks have beaten the Blue Hens while Delaware was ranked in the Top 10.

Wastell tallied three goals last week, including scoring twice in the Billikens' win against Colgate, including the eventual game-winner. The midfielder from Sherborne, England, also scored the Billikens' lone goal at Ohio.
