GILBERT, Ariz. – The Saint Joseph’s field hockey team moved up to 15th in the latest Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Coaches Poll released on Tuesday morning.

The ranking matches the highest in program history; the Hawks were ranked 15th in the final poll of the 2017 season.  SJU was slotted into the 18th position in this year’s preseason poll.

The Hawks have started the season 3-1, with wins over Monmouth and American on opening weekend and a 1-0 win at then-number nine Delaware on August 31.  SJU suffered its first defeat of the season on Sunday at Rutgers; after not being ranked in the preseason poll, the undefeated Scarlet Knights have been voted 23rd in the season’s first new set of rankings.

Saint Joseph’s will next take the field on Sunday when the Hawks visit Penn.  Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
