Bathgate, McNulty, Caruso, Dristle Earn A-10 Cross Country Weekly Awards

NEWPORT NEWS, Va.— Massachusetts’ Dawson Bathgate and Rhode Island’s Katie McNulty were named the Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Performers of the Week, respectively, the league announced Tuesday.  St. Bonaventure’s Logan Caruso and Theresa Dristle were named the Men’s & Women’s Rookies of the Week, respectively. The awards were based off performances from meets held Sept. 17-23.

 

Bathgate, a junior from Rochester, N.Y., was UMass’ top finisher, placing 82nd in a field of 215 competitors with a time of 25:38 (8K). He improved upon his time from the 2017 Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown by nine seconds.

 

McNulty, a senior from Cumberland, R.I., recorded a seventh-place finish with a time of 18:55 (5K) at the Ted Owen Invitational. Her time was a career-best performance and marked her second consecutive race in which she led the Rams.

 

Caruso, a freshman from Bradford, Pa., finished third on the team and 38thoverall with a time of 27:23.4 (8K) at the Harry Anderson Invitational.

 

Dristle, a freshman from Skaneateles Falls, N.Y., finished 30thoverall with a time of 19:43.8 (5K). Her personal best time helped lead the Bonnies to a fourth-place team finish at the Harry Anderson Invitational.
