Saint Joseph's Field Hockey Jumps to 14th in NFHCA Coaches Poll
GILBERT, Ariz. – The Saint Joseph’s field hockey team jumped two places in this week’s Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll, coming in at number 14 in the country on Tuesday morning.
The Hawks notched a pair of wins last week, coming from behind to beat James Madison, 3-2, before rolling to a 5-0 win over Massachusetts in their conference opener on Sunday. Saint Joseph’s is 6-2 on the season, the best winning percentage in the Atlantic 10.
Previous Hawk opponents Duke, Rutgers, and Delaware remained in the poll, with the Blue Devils remaining fourth in the nation, the Scarlet Knights holding steady at #17, and the Blue Hens slipping to 19th. Syracuse moved up one spot to 11th; the Orange will visit Hawk Hill on October 27.
Saint Joseph’s takes its new ranking – the highest in program history, matching its place in the poll released two weeks ago – on the road to visit Lock Haven and Saint Francis (Pa.) in a pair of Atlantic 10 matchups beginning on Friday.
