NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Saint Joseph’s freshman Tonya Botherway was named Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Player and Rookie of the Week for games played from Sept. 24-30.

Botherway, who was named Co-Rookie of the Week last year, earned both awards after tallying her first career hat trick in the Hawks' 4-1 win at Lock Haven on Friday. The forward from Auckland, New Zealand then added a goal and an assist as the Hawks beat Saint Francis, 5-0, for a perfect weekend in conference play. Botherway now sits second in the conference, and first among rookies, with 13 goals and 29 points on the season.
