No. 7 Dayton upsets No. 2 Davidson to move on in #A10MSOC Championship

Davidson, N.C. – Seventh-seeded Dayton upset second-seeded Davidson, 2-1, in double overtime on Friday at Alumni Soccer Stadium in to advance to the Atlantic 10 Men’s Soccer Conference Championship semifinals.

Davidson (9-7-2) was hosting as the higher seed but fell to Dayton (9-5-4) in double overtime. The Flyers now advance to the semifinals, which will be played Friday at Saint Louis University’s Hermann Stadium. They will face the winner of No. 3 George Mason and No. 6 Saint Louis.

Dayton gave up the opening goal in the 78th minute off a free kick that bounced around the box until Davidson’s Lucas Hauth was able to drive it home.

Rok Taneski scored his second goal of the season in dramatic fashion off a free kick with just 13 seconds left in regulation to tie the game up at 1-1 and give Dayton more time to keep their season alive.

Elias Harryson scored the game-winning goal in the 110th minute, completing the Dayton rally. It was his second goal of the season and Laurel Aug's third assist.

The Flyers were outshot in the game 17-13, but matched the Wildcats with six on target.

Goalkeeper Federico Barrios recorded five saves and picked up the win.
