NEW YORK -- A-10 Commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade will be participate in the Sports Business Journal-Learfield Intercollegiate Athletics Forum this week,  as part of a panel on the “Changing Face of College Basketball.”

McGlade’s session begins at 8:55 am and will be hosted by Dana O’Neil, longtime college basketball reporter and Senior Writer at The Athletic.

McGlade is one member of a prestigious panel of basketball minds, including Jim Phillips, the athletic director at Northwestern and current member of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Committee, John Thompson III, former coach and current member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), Jeff Hathaway, a former athletic director who was a member of the Commission on College Basketball and also chaired the NCAA Men’s Basketball Committee, and Val Ackerman, current Commissioner of the Big East Conference and former WNBA Commissioner.

Discussion topics will include the recent FBI investigation and its impact on the game, the recommendations of the Commissioner on College Basketball, the influence of outside groups on the sport and the public perception of college basketball.

In her 11th year as A-10 Commissioner, McGlade had successfully guided the league through the addition of three strong members. Under her guidance, the league has moved its premier event, the men’s basketball championship to major arenas in destination cities while setting revenue records. Now serving her first year on the NCAA Men’s Basketball Committee, she is one of only a small handful of people who have been a member of the men’s and women’s committees, having chaired the NCAA Women’s Basketball Committee in 1999 and 2000. A former women’s basketball coach and student-athlete, McGlade was an administrator at Georgia Tech and the ACC prior to being named Atlantic 10 Commissioner.
