FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason junior midfielder Emily Littell has been named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I Women's Soccer Team First Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Littell, a Bioengineering major with a 3.99 GPA, has been selected Academic All-America® each of the last two years.  In 2017, she became the first Mason women's soccer player in program history to earn the honor.
Littell is the second Mason student-athlete in program history to be selected Academic All-America® two times (Art Kulans – Men's Volleyball 2002, 2003).
Among the 34 members of the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I women's soccer teams, Littell is one of 31 who carries at least a 3.90 GPA.  She is the only student-athlete from the Atlantic 10 Conference selected 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America®.
Littell started all 20 games for the Patriots during the 2018 season and finished second on the team with a career-high five goals.  She finished second on the club in points (12) and played the third-most minutes of any field player on the team (1,633).

A native of Leesburg, Va., Littell helped lead the Patriots to an 8-2-0 mark in Atlantic 10 play during the regular season, setting the program record for wins and points (24) against the conference.  Mason earned a spot in the A-10 Championship for the fourth straight year and advanced to the semifinals.
Littell started all 81 games during her four-year career, fourth-most in program history.  She recorded 11 goals and added 18 assists for 38 points during her Mason career and her 18 assists are tied for the eighth-most in program history.
The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is the only Academic All-America designation recognized by the NCAA.  To be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-District and All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
