Bollesen and Dunn Named A-10 Swimming & Diving Performers of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Fordham sophomore Bryce Bollesen and junior Molly Dunn were named Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Performers of the Week, respectively, the league announced Tuesday. Davidson freshman Thacher Scannell was named Men’s Rookie of the Week and Fordham’s Kysha Marie Altura was named Women’s Rookie of the Week. All four awards are for meets from Dec. 3-9.

 

Bollesen had one individual event win and was a part of two winning relay squads. The Palo Alto, Calif., native captured the top spot in the 50-yard freestyle in 21.46 seconds, while being a part of the winning 200-yard medley relay (1:36.67) and the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:26.23).

 

Dunn won both diving events for Fordham in the Rams' win over Manhattan on Wednesday. The diver from North Attleboro, Mass., posted an NCAA Zone qualifying and career-best score of 273.15 on the one-meter board, while scoring 260.40 on the three-meter board.

 

Scannell, set a school record in the 1,650-yard freestyle at the Winter Junior Nationals in Greensboro on Saturday with a time of 15:36.73. The Stamford, Conn., product placed 21st overall in the event.

 

Altura was a multiple event winner in Fordham's victory over Manhattan on December 5th.  The Paia, Hawaii, native won both the 100-yard butterfly (58.85) and 100-yard individual medley (1:01.19) events Altura was also a part of the B relay in the 200-yard medley relay which took second in 1:50.95.
