Mary Goulding Named A-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Fordham’s Mary Goulding was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week while Saint Louis freshman Ciaja Harbison earned Rookie of the Week honors. The awards were for games played February 4-10.
Goulding was instrumental in a pair of wins last week for the Rams, the team's third and fourth in a row. The senior from Rangiora, New Zealand, averaged 15.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 0.5 blocks across all 80 minutes of action, while shooting 55.0% from the field. Against George Mason Sunday, she matched her career-highs with 19 points and four steals, chipping in seven rebounds and two assists.
Harbison averaged 14.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in a 1-1 week for the Billikens. The freshman from Louisville, Ky., had 16 points, three assists and three steals in the loss to Fordham. She followed with 13 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals in the win over La Salle.
Atlantic 10 Weekly Honor Roll
Davidson’s Katie Turner scored a season-best 22 points in a win over St. Bonaventure where she was 7-of-11 from the floor and 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. Davidson freshman Cassidy Gould averaged 7.0 points and 4.5 rebounds over two games last week…After seeing limited minutes against UMass, Duquesne’s Julijana Vojinovic responded with a season-high 26 points on 8-of-12 shooting against Dayton…Fordham freshman Kaitlyn Downeyscored a career-high 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting with five rebounds and a career-high three steals in the win over Saint Louis…George Mason’s Nicole Cardaño-Hillary scored a career-high 37 points on 14-of-23 shooting against George Washington in a 61-46 victory on Wednesday night. The 37 points were the most by a Mason player in 15 years and the most ever by a Patriot in an Atlantic 10 game…GW freshman Kayla Mokwuah led the Colonials in scoring in both of its games this week, averaging 13.5 ppg while shooting 48.0 percent from the floor (12-of-25)…La Salle’s Michelle Nicholls scored a career-high 23 points and career-best seven assists against Rhode Island…UMass’ Hailey Leidel recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in the win at home against Duquesne…St. Bonaventure’s Asianae Johnson had 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting in a narrow loss at home to VCU…Saint Joseph’s Kristalyn Baisden averaged 15.0 points per game for the week and recorded a career-high 23 in the win against Davidson…Saint Louis’ Jordyn Frantz tied a career-high with 23 points Sunday against La Salle.
