Atlantic 10 Activates Partnerships with Sponsors and Community for 2019 Men's Basketball Championship
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Fourteen teams are set to descend on Brooklyn, N.Y. for the 2019 Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Championship, which tips on March 13 at Barclays Center.
The A-10 continues its mission of collaborating with the host site’s community, beginning Wednesday, March 13 with A-10 Community Appreciation Day. Presented by Maimonides Medical Center, the official medical provider for the A-10 Men’s Basketball Championship, the conference will welcome first responders and their families from the greater NYC area to the opening round games at 1 and 3:30 p.m.
Spalding, the official basketball of the A-10 men’s and women’s basketball championships, will partner with the A-10 on Thursday, March 14 when quarterfinal action begins with more than 3,000 school-age children in attendance for the noon and 2:30 p.m. games, as part of the A-10’s Youth Education Through Sports Day.
Maimonides Medical Center will also partner with the conference for the Youth Education through Sports Day, and the Thursday evening games at 6 p.m. and 8:30 for the A-10’s Salute to the Military Night. Active and retired military members from the New York City area will attend the games, which will also feature a “Swearing in Ceremony” of new members to the Marine Corp and the United States Navy.

Fans can register to win $50,000 in the A-10 Half-Court Shot contest, which will take place during Sunday’s championship contest. Registration for the half-court shot contest begins on Friday, March 15 on the Barclays Center main concourse.
Championship action continues on Friday, March 15 with four quarterfinal games beginning at noon, the semifinal contests on Saturday, March 16 at 1 and 3:30 p.m., and Sunday’s championship game at 1 p.m.
