Saint Louis Advances in Consolation Bracket of #A10SB Championship

AMHERST, Mass. – After four scoreless innings, Saint Louis’ Sadie Wise scored on a sacrifice fly from teammate Kaylyn Breitbach to give the Billikens a lead that they would insure in the seventh inning for a 2-0 victory over No. 4 Dayton to advance in the consolation bracket of the 2019 Atlantic 10 Softball Championship.

With the win, the Billikens advance to play either the loser of game four or game five (lowest seed) at 4:00 pm on Thursday.

Kaylea Chappelle pitched a one-hit game for the Billikens with her only hit given up with two outs down in the seventh inning. First-Team All-Conference first baseman Wise and A-10 Rookie of the year Gabbie Kowalik scored the only two runs of the game each batted in by Breitbach.

Ellie Ziegler had the only hit for the Flyers with a double in the final inning.

With the Loss, Dayton falls to 24-27 on the season.
